Social Media Explained as Ice Cream

By Laura Thomas, ABC | June 10th, 2008

Just a quick post to share another fantastic video from the folks at Common Craft (their video explaining Twitter is on my very first post here).

Now if only more of my friends and family who don’t understand my fascination for social media would actually read my blog and see this!

Yeah, I’ve noticed the Anarchy Media Plugin to be a tad flaky too, especially with IE6.

I did notice repeating blocks that could be causing the problem.

If you edit this post and switch from the Visual to the Code tab you will notice the following...

      <code><code><div id="fo_targ_MpIOClX1jPE&hl=en1546377606" class="flashmovie">

...I'd recommend taking out that first <code>, then scrolling down a few lines to...

</code><br /></code> and deleting the beginning </code><br /> part. End result should be one opening <code> and one closing </code>.

Then save the post again and see how it looks.

Sometime multiple refreshes are needed on IE6, but you should be able to see the embedded video right away on Firefox.

Let me know if it works...?

      Hi Chris!

I’m flattered to see you stopped by my humble site here. Looks like I got the video fixed.

I went back to my very first post and examined the code I’d used there. At first glance, everything looked the same; then, I noticed a very subtle difference in the directory structure of the URL I’d lifted from the YouTube embed code. When I adjusted this URL here to match that directory structure it seemed to fix it.

Now, if only I can remember this lesson the next time I go to post a video. hehe
